We use a tool called GovMetric to collect information about the quality of the content on our website. This helps us to make improvements based on your feedback.
GovMetric uses the WebSurveys system uses Load Balancers to manage the distribution of incoming browser requests to the backend servers. To make this process as efficient as possible, each user is assigned a specific server which will fulfil their entire feedback process and this allocation is stored in a browser cookie*. Each time the user contacts the load balancer, this cookie will be used to direct the user to the correct server. There is nothing stored in this cookie that could be used to identify or track a specific individual.
The system also collects anonymised data about how many users access the service, and the type of web browser used.
